Who We Are
Deep River Church of Christ is an Independent Christian Church— part of the Restoration Movement. We teach the Bible; it always comes before man's opinion.
Core belief 1:
God is the sovereign Creator and the Lord of all that exists. He is one and yet exists eternally in three personalities:
Father
Son (Jesus Christ)
Holy Spirit.
The basis of our unity is our faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Core belief 2:
The Bible:
is the inspired written Word of God;
is the authoritative rule of faith and practice for Christians and the Church;
is perfectly accurate, authoritative, complete, and reliable.
Core belief 3:
We are called to KNOW, GROW, GO!
KNOW God through study of His Word and through worship.
GROW in our relationship with God and each other.
GO serve others and go share the Good News of Jesus Christ!
Leadership
Preaching Minister— Ron Buche
Elders— Larry Boender, Harry Owens, Dave Wenger

FAQ
What will happen on my first visit?
You'll be offered a Welcome Bag by one of our established members. Please fill out the "Let's Get Acquainted" card inside and drop it in the offering plate. We won't announce your visit or single you out in any way; it's merely a way of getting to know our guests.
Do you have a children's program?
Yes; we have a Nursery/Preschool class for infants through Kindergarten, an Elementary class for grades 1-6, and a Teen class for grades 7-8. Children are dismissed from worship service (after songs and communion, and prior to the sermon) to meet in the Education wing.
Can visitors take communion?
We offer communion to all baptized believers of Christ.
Are visitors expected to put money in the offering plate?
Offering time is for members to show their support of Deep River Church with their tithes. As a visitor, it's up to you: you're welcome to participate in offering time if you wish, but you are not expected to give anything until you feel called by God to contribute.
How should I dress?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and respectable. Some of us like to wear our "Sunday best," and others prefer more casual attire.
What kind of music should I expect?
Our praise team sings a mix of modern praise music and traditional hymns. We are an instrumental church that uses guitars, percussion, and keyboard.
Walk Through
Virtually walk through our church home and our typical service so you feel more comfortable on your first visit.

Beliefs & Vision
We view the Bible as God's Word. We follow what it tells us about Jesus, the Holy Spirit, sin, baptism, and communion.
Missions
We proudly support Women's Care Center and No Child Hungry.
Women's Care Center provides helpful resources for women and their children, such as free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, counseling, education and parenting classes, and baby supplies. Last year alone they performed approximately 1,000 free ultrasounds, and their efforts saved 492 babies. Since opening 2 centers in Lake County, the number of local women having abortions has declined 51%.
NWI No Child Hungry was created to help provide meals to local students who are food-insecure. Many students rely on the food they receive during the school week to sustain them through the weekend. NWI No Child Hungry provides Buddy Bags – child friendly, shelf-stable sacks of food – intended to offset hunger on the weekends and extended breaks.
